Environmental management system

AGRO 2.1 & 2.2

It is an environmental management system with quality system elements, is based on the legal requirements, the rational use of all inputs (water, fertilizers, plant protection products) and the monitoring and control of all production phases with the aim of protecting the environment and the consumer, as well as the production of branded, quality, safe and competitive products.

AGROCERT has developed the AGRO 2.1 & AGRO 2.2 standards, which describe the requirements an agricultural holding must comply with in order to be certified for the implementation of the Integrated Management System in the production of its products.

Its result is the production of high quality products with special features while compliance with the specifications is controlled by independent Certification Bodies. The factors that focus on the rational management of AGRO are seed origin, soil handling, fertilization, irrigation, plant protection, harvesting, and traceability principles. The AGRO 2 standards are 2.1 (general system requirements) and 2.2 (technical and legal requirements), while it should be emphasized that they apply to both individual producers and their respective groups. Benefits from the implementation of this system are to ensure crop yields, reduce environmental impacts, produce low-chemical products, and gain value-added products due to recognized quality.
